Welcome to With Open Text

With Open Text is a body of scriptural research and biblical analysis formed through careful observation of the Word of God.

The work in this section examines the narratives of men and women in Scripture through structured biblical case studies, allowing the patterns, tensions, and revelations within the text to be observed with patience and attentiveness.

These studies approach the biblical text directly.

The Word of God remains the sole source and foundation for the analysis. Rather than relying on external interpretive authorities, each case study is developed through sustained engagement with Scripture itself.

Within this framework, the writings in With Open Text examine the lives of individuals in the Word in order to observe patterns related to identity, responsibility, loyalty, authority, obedience, and spiritual conflict within the Kingdom of God.

Two complementary streams of study shape the work within this space.

Biblical Womanhood Case Studies

These studies examine the narratives of women in Scripture through what may be described as a Daughterhood Lens of Scripture. Through this lens, the stories of women in the Word reveal patterns of daughterhood, responsibility, identity, voice, and relational dynamics that unfold within the biblical narrative.

Particular attention is given to patterns that often resonate with the lived experiences of eldest daughters, including themes of responsibility, loyalty, burden-bearing, and the complexities that can arise within family structures and positions of influence.

Biblical Sonship Case Studies

These studies examine the lives of men in Scripture through a parallel Sonship Lens of Scripture. Rather than focusing on identification, these studies seek to illuminate the dynamics that shape sonship within the biblical text, including responsibility, leadership, temptation, obedience, and the pressures that often accompany positions of authority and calling.

Through these narratives, the Word of God reveals many of the spiritual tensions and conflicts that appear within the lives of those entrusted with influence and responsibility.

Together, these studies form an expanding body of scriptural analysis that observes how the narratives of Scripture illuminate deeper truths about identity, responsibility, spiritual conflict, and Kingdom life.

The aim of this work is not novelty or speculation, but attentive engagement with the Word of God—allowing the stories contained within Scripture to reveal the patterns and truths present within the biblical text.
